How can I learn italian?

November 19, 2008 by admin

I'm italian and this year in school we're really studying our heritage. its fun. i've always been interested in learning, and i tried last summer but i couldn't stay motivated. it isn't offered as a language course at our school and i really wanna learn! i know bits and pieces, but can't speak in sentances. any advice will be appreciated!
my parents are both italian… actually my moms only half but they aren't fluent. they're parents stopped speaking italian when they moved 2 the US.

Method #1- Move to Italy.
Method #2- Marry an Italian-speaking Italian.
Method #3- Eat a lot of spaghetti and meat-a-balls
Method #4- Enroll in an on-line Italian class and, if already married-eliminate Method #2. Also, moderate Method #3.

Very few schools in the US offer Italian compared with the number of schools that teach Spanish. Take the Spanish courses. Spanish is very close to Italian. You can also join your nearest Italian American Club.

The best way to learn a language, fast and surely, is to travel, even if you cannot afford getting Italy, some countries Like Brazil, and other as the Spanish language could be very helpfull in a way to start being familiar with the latin languages structures
In America there's always an Immigrant full of joy to teach you something, my suggestion is also post in your local town Craigslist.org to see if there's someone willing to trade lessons for other of your skills (like English – EFL)

go to the book store and pick up extra books on Italian make sure the listening CDS are with it if you do not have the listening comprehension you'll be in trouble learning the language

try simple sentences with only a couple words and build your self up go in a quiet room and make sure that there isn't any distractions put a do not distrub sign on the door and that you are doing your homework
