How can I learn Italian more quickly, since I already know French and Spanish?

I'm looking for some kind of Italian learning program that caters to people who already speak other Romance languages, or at least moves quite quickly. I'm especially looking for something I can listen to in the car, since I have a very heavy commute… I want to avoid something like the Pimsleur program, I have it now and it's driving me crazy since it repeats everything so many times; and I can already understand Italian, for the most part, I just can't speak it.
Thanks!
if u really interested in italian, i suggest u better buy 'digital publishing' italiano 1. there are two versions of them: V10 and V11. V10 is designed for a normal computer, means u will not be able to play it without CD. V11 is the other way.
the software is not expensive and very helpful.

How do the Chinese immigrants to Italy learn Italian?

Or do they just not learn Italian? How come Italy let's in people from third world countries but they will not let American's or other Europeans immigrate into Italy?
They like the Chinese better, it is what is called discrimination here. The Italians are free to choose whom they want to let in their country.. and why should we disagree, with their choice for their country. The Chinese will learn the Italian language, it is easy if you are in the country and everyone is speaking Italian.
Would you consider Italian a difficult language to learn?

I'm currently learning Spanish and Portuguese and would like to learn Italian as well. The thing about it though is that I probably won't be able to take classes to learn the language (I'm already a doulbe major doing International Business and Spanish and plan to pick up a minor in either Mandrin or Japanese). So for this reason I am thinking about just learning the language on my own. I'm doing this with Portugues right now and have been pretty successful. But I'm not sure if that's simply because I'm learning Spanish in school and Portuguese is very similar to it. Is Italian similar enough to Portuguese and Spanish where I'd be able to learn it on my own? Thanks in advance!
Absolutely not. I speak it and I am Romanian. It would be a breeze for you since you speak Spanish and Portuguese. Italian is a lot simpler than Portuguese because it has no nasal sounds – Port has 10 I believe.
Go for it! You'll love the language. It just rolls off your tongue.
I studied French, Italian, Spanish, German, Polish, Arabic, Russian, Romanian (mother tongue), and Chinese during the course of my life. I do not speak all of them, but I can certainly tell you what's easy and what's not.
What is the best way to learn Italian and french?

I want to learn italian and french and was wondering what the best way was to learn it besides moving there.Like a Cd or something.
No doubt, rent movies in the language,,pay careful attention to the action going on there too. I learned Italian that way, of course I was living there but watching TV is the best….since there is RAI the Italian channel on cable, watch it when you can.
How Long Would it Take to Learn Italian in Florence?

Hi
I am thinking of travelling to Florence next year and wanted to learn italian. My mums side of the family is italian and they all speak it and I dont so I would like to finally learn it. How long do you think it would take to learn italian if I was doing 4 hours contact time, going on excursions and living in Florence. I can understand a bit but not speak it very well.
Thanks for the help!
To understand the Italian language you must stay more than 3 months, to speak it about 6 months.
You can learn a poor course of Italian in 6 weeks, if you want only to amuse yourself in this excellent city.
