How do the Chinese immigrants to Italy learn Italian?

Or do they just not learn Italian? How come Italy let's in people from third world countries but they will not let American's or other Europeans immigrate into Italy?
They like the Chinese better, it is what is called discrimination here. The Italians are free to choose whom they want to let in their country.. and why should we disagree, with their choice for their country. The Chinese will learn the Italian language, it is easy if you are in the country and everyone is speaking Italian.
What language would be easier to learn, Italian or Russian?

I wanna learn to speak Italian and Russian, what would be the best to learn first??
I know English and Spanish
Thank you!
Ok, Italian is way closer to Spanish than Russian.
Here are a few things that I can think of that Russian has that Italian doesn't:
-Completely different alphabet than we use.
-Nouns have 6 cases; that is, the nouns change endings depending on how they're used in a sentence
-Nouns have 3 genders (masc, fem, neuter)
Italian compared to the Russian I gave above:
-Uses the same alphabet that we use; actually less letters than English does
-Nouns do NOT decline
-Nouns only have 2 genders, like Spanish
How can I learn italian easily at home?

I am 15 years old and have an italian background and family. At family functions, italian is somewhat of a primary language being spoken. I want to be able to understand what my relatives are saying, and with that comes the knowledge of communicating with them.
How can I learn to understand italian fast and easy? I have a mother who speaks fluent italian, so that may be of some assistance. Thanks
The BBC website has an excellent on-line Italian course with different levels and plenty of videos with dialogs explanations, vocabulary and grammar rules.
However, even if you get a grasp of the language basics, then you'll have to deal with the regional accent of your relatives, which in some cases (e.g. calabrese or pugliese) could be like learning the language again…
Good luck, anyway.
How did you learn to speak Italian fluently??

I want to learn Italian very badly. I have looked at several websites, and I do find good information, but it is all out of order, I have no idea where to start. I am jumping from phrases, to alphabet, to pronounciation. It is very confusing as I have not found a very organized website that will truly help me. I was wondering how did you learn to speak Italian? And are there any books that are good? Like for example: Italian for Dummies?
I took the beginners class in high school, and continued afterwards listening to SEVERAL books on tape (or mp3s) where you repeat every sentence and everyone looks at you looks at you like you're crazy, lol, j/k.
Also rented many many Italian movies w/ english subtitles and keep practicing! You really have to be consistent on your own with studying to keep all the rules and language fresh in your memory.
Music helped as well! Sing along with Bocelli, Lucio Battisti, Laura Pausini.
